第二次襄樊英语角活动小结
Summary for the second session of Xiangfan English corner
It was still a hot Sunday afternoon, however, there r something different this time.
Because I haven’t informed guys and gals in a timely manner, some friends showed up in the first time didn’t appeared, for example, sunshine, and Mr. Chen, who ran a business dealing with China Unicom service, also a super fans of English corner. However, some new friends came, two engineers , who r the colleagues of Mr Wu, being introduced to this corner, as well as the wife of one of the engineer, who is an English teacher at a junior high middle school. What made us happy was that a pretty joined us , a girl, I got to know on line . As for Lady Liu, she came to say hello and went, because today was her anniversary of wedding , she would celebrate it with her hubby and friends in a stadium, playing badminton, that was cool!
About the organization of the English corner , I came up with several ideas, and one way is to provide friends with certain topics , therefore I selected some for debate or presentation in advance and printed it out, I did handed out those copies to friends, but the reality was , we didn’t talk about them at all, maybe just like Mr. Wu said, those selected topics were a little hard to talk, maybe I just didn’t try to organize guys to focus on these topics rather than small talks and free topics.
Another thing is the place of the English corner , Mr sun would bring us a good news, that is , he happened to know a guy who ran a shop selling outdoor sporting gears, who is intend to help us to find a better place, in this double-win way, we would enjoy a comfortable environment in such a unbearable summer, the owner of the shop could sell us drinks with acceptable price , for example , three Yuan for a bottle of beer, meanwhile, the presence of more people could attract more customers for him, not bad , right?
Last but not least , we all felt sad about the casualty caused by the big earthquake , many of us had that kind of terrible feeling at that day, 14:28 May 12, Let us pray together, May those deceased rest in peace!
